Blasting has a procedure and neighbours

BC Energy Step Code compliance requires energy modelling and airtightness testing, so an energy advisor belongs in the team from schematic design. On a house with extensive view glazing that is not a formality — the glazing strategy and the envelope have to be resolved together to hit the target.
Seismic design is more demanding here
The Lower Mainland carries the highest seismic hazard in the country, and structural requirements reflect it. On a stepped hillside house with large openings that interacts with the architecture, so structural engagement should be early rather than after the design is fixed.
